Why I Pair Orange Light Therapy With a Vibration Plate for Lymphatic Drainage

One of my favorite wellness combinations lately has been using orange light therapy while standing on a vibration plate. The two work together so well for helping support circulation, lymphatic flow, puffiness, stagnant fluid, and that heavy “sluggish” feeling so many of us deal with.

But before I even step on the vibration plate, I always start by opening the “Big 6” lymphatic drainage points with my Gua sha tool.

This simple routine helps everything move better.

First, Why the Lymphatic System Matters

Your lymphatic system is responsible for helping move waste, toxins, excess fluid, and immune cells throughout the body. Unlike your circulatory system, the lymphatic system does not have a pump like the heart. It depends on movement, breathing, muscle contraction, hydration, and manual stimulation to keep things flowing.

When lymph becomes stagnant, you may notice:
• Puffiness in the face or body
• Swelling
• Fluid retention
• Sluggish skin
• Inflammation
• That “heavy” feeling in your body

This is why supporting lymph flow can make such a difference in both how your skin looks and how your body feels.

Step 1: Open the Big 6 With Gua Sha

Before using the vibration plate or LED light therapy, I like to “open” the major lymphatic drainage pathways first.

This helps create space for fluid to move.

The “Big 6” areas I focus on are:
• Above the collarbones
• Sides of the neck
• Under the jawline
• Under the armpits
• Abdomen
• Behind the knees

Using a Gua sha tool with gentle pressure, lightly sweep downward toward the drainage points. You do not need aggressive pressure. Lymph sits close to the surface of the skin, so lighter movements work best.

A few helpful tips:
• Always work toward the heart
• Use oil so the tool glides smoothly
• Focus on slow, intentional strokes
• Never force fluid aggressively

I especially notice less puffiness around my eyes and jawline when I consistently open the neck and collarbone areas first.

Step 2: Add the Vibration Plate

Once the lymphatic pathways are opened, I step onto the vibration plate.

Vibration plates help stimulate the body through rapid muscle activation and gentle vibration. This movement can help support circulation, muscle engagement, and lymphatic movement throughout the tissues.

Think of it as helping physically “wake up” stagnant areas of the body.

Many people notice:
• Reduced puffiness
• Less fluid retention
• Increased circulation
• More energized muscles and tissues
• A healthy post-workout glow

And honestly… it just feels good.

Step 3: Add Orange Light Therapy

This is where things get really interesting.

Orange light therapy is often used to help support circulation, calm inflammation, and energize the skin and tissues. While the vibration plate physically stimulates movement, the orange light helps support the tissues themselves.

I love combining the two because:
• The vibration helps move fluid
• The orange light supports circulation and recovery
• Together they help reduce puffiness and stagnant fluid even more effectively

It’s one of those combinations where you actually notice the difference afterward.

My skin looks less swollen, my body feels lighter, and I notice a healthier glow overall.

Why Light Therapy Works

LED light therapy works by delivering specific wavelengths of light into the tissues. These wavelengths help stimulate cellular energy production, known as ATP production.

ATP is basically energy for your cells.

When your cells have more energy, they are better able to:
• Repair
• Recover
• Reduce inflammation
• Support healthy tissue function

Different wavelengths support different concerns:
• Blue light helps support acne-prone skin
• Red light supports collagen and skin repair
• Orange light supports circulation and glow

My Favorite Tips

• Open the lymph first before using light therapy
• Stay hydrated because lymph needs water to move
• Use gentle movement consistently instead of aggressively
• Pair your light therapy with nourishing skincare oils
• Focus on consistency over perfection

And honestly… make it enjoyable.

Play music. Sit in the sunshine afterward. Breathe deeply. Make your wellness routines feel good so you actually want to keep doing them.

Because healthy skin and healing are not just about products. They are about supporting your body as a whole.
